Easter has already passed, but I hadn't gotten to post our last Easter activity. I thought it would be fun to do a little water play with some Easter eggs and measuring cups. I also added a few drops of food coloring to the water so that he could better see depth.
- large container (I found an empty storage tote in our garage and washed it up for use)
- assorted Easter eggs
- measuring cups, scoops, spoons etc.
- optional: food coloring or bath colors for tinting water
Demonstrate concepts such as scooping the eggs with the measuring cups, and pouring water from cup to cup or cup to container.
Allow child plenty of opportunity for free play and simple exploration.
Tennyson was less than thrilled with this activity. He wasn't keen on playing in the water in the least. Perhaps it would have been more appealing if he were older and showing more interest in water play, or it was a cool and refreshing activity for a hot day outside. Perhaps better luck next year! :)
